HRCP concerned over alleged restrictions on former PM Imran’s family meetings

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) has expressed deep concern over the alleged conditions of former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s detention, citing allegations that he is being denied access to his family and legal team.

The commission stressed that regular and unimpeded contact with family and lawyers is a fundamental safeguard against the risks of solitary confinement and potential abuse of authority.

In a direct appeal, HRCP called on the Government of Pakistan and the Punjab Home Department to ensure that all detention procedures are in strict accordance with constitutional requirements and international standards of humane treatment.
