Karachi: The Hindu community living across the country is celebrating Diwali with religious zeal and fervor today. Special sermons have been arranged in Hindu temples nationwide to commemorate the event. The festival is marked by lighting earthen lamps, a ritual that commemorates the return of Lord Rama.

According to Radio Pakistan, Diwali is celebrated to honor the sacrifices of Shree Ram Chandar Jee, who spent almost fourteen years in exile in forests and preached Hinduism. In his message, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif extended warm greetings to all members of the Hindu community across Pakistan and around the world. He emphasized that Diwali, the festival of lights, symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness and hope over despair.
