Heightened Security Alert Issued for Quetta Amid Potential Terror Threat

Authorities in Balochistan have raised alarms over a potential threat as a terrorist group allegedly plans to target high-profile locations and government buildings, particularly in Quetta.

According to the Counter Terrorism Department Balochistan, a letter from the Deputy Inspector General of Police, dated March 06, 2025, has been issued to the Inspector General of Police Balochistan. The letter warns of plans by the ex-BLA/BLF Alias BIRAS group to execute attacks using two vehicles vehicles, Toyota Axio Hybrid color white and Toyota Revo color black, which have enter the city premises. In the light of above, all are requested to take extra ordinary precautions and safety measures to prevent such occurance, the letter said.

The department has urged all entities to implement extraordinary precautions and safety measures. CTD officers have been instructed to prioritize the safety of personnel and conduct a fresh security audit.
