ISLAMABAD:Officials in Saudi Arabia prepared for millions of pilgrims to visit for the Hajj after removing all covid-19 restrictions for the first time since 2019.
Wrapped in white robes, with some carrying umbrellas against the burning sun, Muslims performed the first ritual of the Hajj, which involves walking in a circle around the KAABA, the sacred building at the centre of the grand mosque.
Deputy Director General of Saudi Customs, Major General Salih Al-Moraba said over a million and a half pilgrims had arrived from overseas.
