Guns could not deter Balochis from demanding rights: NP leader

Shamaila Ismail, a central executive member of the National Party, on Sunday criticized what she described as the worst example of dictatorship in Balochistan.

In a statement, she condemned the use of force to disperse peaceful protesters, referencing an incident in Mastung where security forces allegedly opened fire on demonstrators heading to Gwadar.

“What kind of law stops a peaceful protest by force and opens fire on peaceful protesters?” the National Party leader questioned.

Shamaila accused the state of suppressing the rights of the Baloch people for the past 70 years. She emphasized that instead of stepping back, the resistance of the Baloch people was growing stronger. She said that guns, prisons, and violence could not deter the Balochis from demanding their rights.
