ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has said the federal government is trying to impart benefit of decrease in petroleum prices to the common man through corresponding reduction in prices of essential commodities.

Speaking in a program of PTV, he said directives have been issued to all provincial governments for ensuring active price control mechanism. The Minister said the caretaker setup during its limited tenure is trying its best to leave a better and stable economy for the elected government.

In this regard, he mentioned the steps taken to curb smuggling of currency and essential commodities and depreciation of rupee. To a question, Murtaza Solangi emphasized the need for governance sector reforms to speed up development process and keep pace with the growing world.
