Caretaker Minister for Privatization Fawad Hasan Fawad says government is taking forward the privatization process in a transparent manner while ensuring protection of public interest.

Addressing a news conference along with Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi in Islamabad, he highlighted the importance of privatizing loss-making State-Owned Enterprises to enable them to compete effectively in evolving global economy.

Fawad Hasan Fawad said the government allocated over two trillion rupees to support loss-making State Owned Enterprises between 2018 and 2022.

He said these funds could have been allocated to advance national development projects such as Bhasha Dam.
