Govt reaffirms no-entry in Quetta’s Red Zone amid Protest

Provincial government spokesman Shahid Rind reaffirmed on Thursday that no one would be allowed to enter the Red Zone area of Quetta.

In a message, Rind stated that a peaceful protest had been ongoing on Sariab Road for the past 12 days without state interference. However, when protesters attempted to proceed toward the Red Zone, police intervened.

Despite the imposition of Section 144, which prohibits gatherings, protesters tried to enter the area and pelted stones at the police. The police, in turn, maintained an attitude of patience and tolerance.

Rind emphasized the importance of the Red Zone, which included the Balochistan High Court, the Supreme Court Registry, the Governor’s House, the Chief Minister’s House, judges’ residences, high civil authorities, and the Balochistan Civil Secretariat. He stressed that those state institutions must not be compromised.
