Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar informed the Senate on Thursday that five cases of Mpox have so far been detected in the country.
He was responding to a calling attention notice. The Minister said screening system has been operationalized at airports besides testing kits have been made available.
The Senate also passed four bills, which included: The Apostille Bill, 2024, The Privatization Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2024, The Establishment of Telecommunication Appellate Tribunal Bill, 2024, and The Peaceful Assembly and Public Order Bill, 2024.
The chair referred The Cannabis Control and Regulatory Authority Bill, 2024 to the Standing Committee concerned. Later, the House was adjourned to meet tomorrow (Friday) at 10:30 am.
