Federal Minister for National Food Security Rana Tanveer Hussain on Wednesday said there is a favorable environment for the olive cultivation in Pakistan.
Speaking at Al Baraka Pakistan Olive Summit 2024 here in Islamabad, he said the government is focusing on the olive production to meet domestic demand and earn foreign exchange.
The Minister said Pakistan has the potential to export quality olive products in the world market. He stressed that research is crucial to the growth of any sector.
In order to develop the agricultural sector, he said, we need to undertake research to enhance the agricultural development in the country.
Moreover, the Al Baraka Pakistan Olive Summit 2024 brought together key national and international experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to advance Pakistan’s olive industry.
Under the theme ‘Developing a Safe, Sustainable and Ready-to-Export Supply Chain of the Olive Sector,’ the summit emphasized Pakistan’s potential to emerge as a significant player in the global olive market.
