Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said the government is focused on promotion of national game, Hockey.

He was talking via video link on Friday to national Hockey Team which has qualified for the final of Azlan Shah Hockey Cup to be played in Malaysia tomorrow (Saturday).

The Minister said a campaign is being launched today, in all print and electronic media to highlight performance of our team which despite all challenges has given a tremendous comeback in the game.

He said the match will be broadcast live across the country tomorrow. The Minister wished the team best of luck and said the entire nation is praying for the victory of Pakistan and is looking forward to welcome a champion team.

Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Rana Mashood Ahmed, who was accompanying the Information Minister, appreciated the team for reaching the final after thirteen years.

He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will host the team on its return and will address the issues impeding development of this game in the country.
