Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored the government’s commitment to establishing a solid, long-term partnership with Huawei to enhance technical training for Pakistani youth in Information Technology.

During a meeting with a Huawei delegation led by CEO Ethen Sun, Sharif emphasized that the partnership is set to significantly increase IT exports and generate employment opportunities for young people. The gathering received an update on Huawei’s initiative to train 300,000 Pakistani youth in IT, with 240,000 set for basic training and 60,000 for high-tech training by the year’s end.

The meeting also covered Huawei’s collaboration with the Higher Education Commission to introduce AI, Cloud Computing, Big Data, and Cybersecurity courses in 15 universities. Validation by third parties will ensure the programs’ efficacy.
