The relevant government agencies are continuing their crackdown against smuggling, hoarding and power pilferage.
The measures, facilitated by the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), are effective from September last year and have resulted in many arrests and recoveries of billions of rupees, according to a Radio Pakistan’s report.
Law enforcement agencies have registered 173,212 FIRs (First Information Reports) against people involved in power theft and arrested more than 83,295 power thieves and recovered 104 billion rupees.
Similarly, during operation against smuggling, several items including fertilizer, wheat, sugar and Iranian oil were recovered.
