Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, announced the government's plan to align Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with modern technology to boost their productivity and competitiveness. He shared these insights during a meeting with representatives of SME clusters from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.According to Radio Pakistan, Haroon Akhtar Khan assured the delegation that the government is committed to facilitating SMEs through financial institutions and is collaborating with international consultants to introduce best practices. The SME representatives expressed their appreciation for the Ministry of Industries and Production's efforts and thanked the Prime Minister for the initiatives aimed at uplifting the SME sector.The representatives highlighted the need for governmental support in the furniture sector and underscored the significant export potential of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa's honey industry. In response, Haroon Akhtar Khan promised facilitation in improving honey production and packaging.He commended the performance of SMEs in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and directed the relevant officials to enhance coordination with the provincial government to establish new industrial estates. Additionally, he instructed the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to provide engineers and designers to assist SMEs in improving product design and adding value.
