Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has termed political stability essential for the country’s economic progress.
Speaking at a ceremony at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry today, he called for brining further improvements in Pakistan’s economic policies.
Gilani said that the economy could be strengthened through the development of special economic zones. He highlighted the significance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, stressing its role in promoting modern technologies and creating new job opportunities.
The Senate chairman also noted that public-private partnerships were crucial for economic growth. Discussing Pakistan’s energy sector, he emphasized the country’s diverse sources of electricity, including solar, wind, hydro, coal, and gas, which can meet national energy demands.
