NAUNDERO: A 20-year-old young man Arbelo, son of Niaz Shaikh, died of gastroenteritis here on Tuesday bringing the number of deaths to five.
His brother Khalid Shaikh brought him to Government Hospital here from Izat Ji Wandh village for treatment, but due to his precarious condition he was referred to Chandka Medical College Hospital (CMCH) for further treatment and management.
Nabi Bux Bhutto, PPHI Incharge here told newsmen that a record increase has been registered in Gastro cases which have emerged in and around Naundero. He said as many as 9,342 gastro cases were brought at the Hospital in the last two months out of which 5,656 were provided treatment whereas 58 patients were referred to Chandka Medical College Hospital due to their critical condition and five have so far died.
He said a large number of patients are regularly arriving at the hospital from Salar Bhutto, Kot Bhutto, Chamb Jeho, Agham, Izat Ji Wandh, Koreja, Allah Warayo Machi, Burira, Suhrab Machi and other villages. He said a separate ward has been established for gastro patients and an expert doctor has been posted to provide medical treatment to them.
