The Senate was informed today about the ongoing revision of the Central Superior Services (CSS) syllabus by the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC), a crucial step towards enhancing the quality of civil service exams.
During the Question Hour, Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazeer Tarar informed the House that a committee, led by Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal, is actively engaging with relevant stakeholders to finalize the draft for civil service reforms. He highlighted that these competitive exams are vital for equipping the country’s bureaucracy with quality human resources, which is essential for effective governance.
Addressing concerns raised by Opposition Leader Shibli Faraz, Tarar clarified that the issue regarding Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa remains unresolved in the courts. He attributed the delay to the provincial government’s responsibility. The Minister also confirmed that the elections for the Senate Chairman and Deputy Chairman were conducted as per constitutional guidelines.
