Formation Commanders Pledge to Combat Terrorism and Hostility in Pakistan.


Rawalpindi: The Formation Commanders Conference has expressed the resolve to continue neutralizing terrorists, their facilitators, and abettors working at the behest of hostile forces to destabilize Pakistan. The two-day conference concluded in Rawalpindi today with Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir in the chair. The forum further said operations against terrorists operating inside Balochistan, including BLA Majeed Brigade, will be given due focus.

According to Radio Pakistan, the conference emphasized the necessity for the government to implement stringent laws and regulations to curb the unethical use of freedom of expression, which is often used to spread misinformation and sow discord. It also stressed the importance of identifying and bringing to justice those responsible for spreading fake news for political and financial gain.

The Army reiterated its commitment to serving the nation and protecting it from internal and external threats without any political bias. The formation commanders expressed th
eir concern over the malicious propaganda following the lawful deployment of the Army in the capital to secure key government buildings and ensure the safety of visiting delegations. This propaganda, which aims to create distrust between the public and the Armed Forces, is seen as being driven by external players and certain political elements.

The forum condemned the ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people. It also expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemning the atrocities in Gaza and supporting international measures to end military aggression.

Participants reviewed the prevailing security environment and the Army’s readiness to address traditional and non-traditional threats. The conference noted with concern the use of Afghan soil by terrorists against Pakistan and urged the Interim Afghan Government to prevent such activities.

The forum reiterated its support for socioeconomic and developmen
t efforts in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, emphasizing the resilience of the people in these regions against terrorism. It highlighted the Army’s commitment to supporting government efforts in fostering economic growth and eradicating the terror-crime nexus.

Concluding the conference, the Army Chief emphasized professionalism, operational readiness, and dedication to Pakistan’s security and stability. The forum began by paying tribute to the martyrs of the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and citizens who sacrificed their lives for the nation’s security, including those who died in recent protests in Islamabad.

The conference was attended by Corps Commanders, Principal Staff Officers, and all Formation Commanders of the Pakistan Army.
