Focal persons from ICCI, FPCCI to be invited to CDA Board Meeting when required:CDA Chairman

Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Wednesday said business community plays a vital role in the development and prosperity of the country thus resulting into economic growth and generating employment.

He said this while chairing a ceremony arranged by the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ICCI) as a chief guest. He said CDA is committed to resolving genuine problems of the business community.

The Chairman CDA said focal persons from ICCI and Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) would be invited to CDA Board Meeting as and when required to apprise CDA Board about the issues of business community.

He also outlined the steps taken by the CDA in order to supply of water to the citizens of Islamabad as well as initiating a large-scale tree plantation drive which is a landmark step to ensure the protection and maintenance of the newly planted saplings.

The ICCI President Nasir Mansoor Qureshi, in his welcome address, appreciated the efforts under the dynamic leadership of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner for taking personal interest in resolving the issues of business community.

He said there are some issues faced by the business community of Islamabad which need to be resolved. He requested for a dedicated graveyard in Sector H-13 in order to cater to the area’s growing population.

He said ICCI, with the support of the business community, has planned to plant one lakh saplings to enhance Islamabad’s greenery and maintain its beauty.

The Chairman CDA said that CDA is making serious efforts to improve road infrastructure, beautification, plantation of environmentally friendly trees and also intending to have cash less system as well as payment of its services including water and property taxes on line.

He said the business community of Islamabad including traders, industrialists and others join hands with CDA to have clean, green, safe and encroachment free Islamabad which will not only increase the beauty of Islamabad but will also help in improving business atmosphere in Islamabad.

The ICCI Vice President lauded the efforts of Chairman CDA especially his visit to ICCI which shows his firm resolve and commitment to address the genuine issues of traders and industrialists of Islamabad which will pave the way for a smooth business environment in the capital.

The meeting ended with a resolve to maintain close collaboration between ICCI and CDA to resolve Islamabad’s business community’s genuine issues as per law for sustainable business friendly environment.
