Focal Person for Polio Eradication visits Rawalpindi to oversee ongoing campaign

Prime Minister’s Focal Person for Polio Eradication, Ayesha Raza Farooq, on Wednesday, monitored the antipolio campaign activities by visiting UC CTR5 of Rawalpindi.

Her visit was aimed at to check and motivate teams in Habib Colony in Rawalpindi Cantt with the District Commissioner and team where she commended the dedication and hard work of the frontline workers, including Area Incharge Abbas and UCMO Muhammad Ishaq.

Ayesha Raza Farooq’s visit demonstrates the government’s commitment to eradicating polio and the Prime Minister’s resolve to ‘reach every child’ with polio vaccines during the September campaign, according to an official statement.

She appreciated the local district health authorities in both Islamabad and Rawalpindi for leading efforts from the front and urging parents to ensure vaccination of all eligible children.

Despite overall good RI coverage, the scattered pockets of suboptimal immunity need immense vigilance, highquality campaigns and strong routine immunisation.
