BAJUR:,,, Five police officials were martyred and 22 injured in a blast near a police vehicle in Mamond Belot on Monday.
Security forces rushed to the scene, cordoned off the area and conducted rescue operation. The search has also been started to arrest terrorists and their facilitators. Rescue 1122 also reached the scene and shifted the injured to Khar hospital where emergency has been declared.
Panic gripped the area soon after the blast. The condition of two injured people was serious.
Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice (Retd) Syed Arshad Hussain Shah condemned the incidnet and expressed grief over the martyrdom of the policemen in the blast. He directed to ensure provision of medical facility to the injured.
People’s Party (PPP) co-cahirman Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also expressed grief over the incident. They called the officials hero who were on duty to provide security to polio workers.
