Five more Kashmiri employees suspended in IIOJK

In a concerted effort to displace Kashmiris from their jobs and replace them with individuals aligned to Hindutva ideologies, the BJPled Indian government has suspended five more employees in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, these latest suspensions were carried out under the pretext of failing to report for election duty in Reasi district, following the first phase of the socalled assembly elections held on September 18.

The suspended individuals are all teachers. Since the Modi regime’s unlawful actions in August 2019, numerous employees in IIOJK have faced suspension under various pretexts, underscoring a disturbing trend aimed at reshaping the workforce in a way that marginalizes the local Kashmiris.

A report released by Kashmir Media Service in observance of the International Day of Peace, today, highlights a stark contrast in IIOJK, where ongoing Indian state terrorism fosters a climate of fear. For the past 77 years, the report said, Kashmiris have endured severe brutality at the hands of Indian troops who operate with impunity.

Since the abrogation of Article 370, the territory has been subjected to an intensified military siege, effectively transforming it into a vast concentration camp, with over 5,000 Kashmiris, including top profreedom leaders, activists and journalists, currently held illegally.

The report urged the international community to intervene urgently as the situation in the occupied territory continues to deteriorate, underscoring that genuine peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without recognizing the Kashmiris’ right to selfdetermination.
