Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi announced that deported Pakistanis will face FIRs and passport cancellations.
The measure, decided in a high-level meeting chaired by Naqvi, aims to address the embarrassment deportees bring at the international level and includes placing them on the Passport Control List for five years.
Following the minister’s directive, a committee led by the Interior Secretary has been established to enhance passport regulations. Naqvi emphasized that no leniency would be afforded to those who undermine the country’s reputation abroad.
The meeting was attended by notable figures including Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, DG FIA Riffat Mukhtar Raja, and DG Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi.
