The forest areas in Kathua and Rajouri districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been engulfed by fire, causing significant damage to forest wealth today.

According to a Kashmir Media Service report, in Kathua, the fire started in Dhara Dogano area of Basholi belt and soon spread to nearby regions. Reportedly, the fire was brought under control.

In Rajouri, the fire broke out in Sawni Sassalkote area and spread to adjacent areas due to strong winds. Reportedly, efforts continue to control the blaze.

In this regard, officials said that some areas in Rajouri have been experiencing forest fires for the past three days, with continuous efforts being made to contain them.
