Murree: A massive fire destroyed the forests of Murree on Monday.
The fire broke out and engulfed a large area of Goda Paphrail and Sunbhal Biah forests in Murrree. Rescue 1122 personnel and the Forest Department staff put out the fire. However controlled the fire after hectic efforts of several hours. The blaze reduced hundreds of trees and plants to ashes. The flames of the fire were visible from afar.
At least eight fire tenders and three emergency ambulances were used to extinguish the fire. Locals also assisted the fire fighters. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz took notice of the fire and sought a report from the Rawalpindi division commissioner. He also ordered an investigation into the fire.
