Federal Minister Shiza Fatima Khawaja met with Mr. Lu Ji, founder of Guodong Group, on the sidelines of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference in Shanghai. The meeting focused on potential investment in Pakistan’s Information and Communication Technology (ICT) sector and renewable energy production.

Opportunities in areas such as telecom infrastructure, data facilities, and cloud services were explored. Guodong Group also expressed interest in electric vehicle support systems, urban development projects, and high-tech component manufacturing in Pakistan.

Renewable energy was also a key part of the discussion. Minister Khawaja invited the Guodong Group to visit Pakistan for a more detailed assessment of the investment climate, which the company accepted.

The Minister linked these potential collaborations with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of establishing a digitally advanced country. She reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to attracting foreign investment in ICT and sustainable energy solutions.
