Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, held significant discussions with a four-member Palestinian delegation on Thursday. Led by Palestine’s Chief Justice, Dr. Mahmoud Sidqi Abdul Rahman Al-Habbash, the meeting included prominent religious figures from Al-Aqsa Mosque and Ibrahimi Mosque.

During the talks, the Palestinian representatives expressed their condolences for the devastation caused by recent floods in Pakistan. Sardar Yousaf reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast political, moral, and diplomatic backing for the Palestinian cause. He emphasized that Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian people goes beyond borders of religion, race, creed, and culture, highlighting it as a core human and moral obligation.

The minister condemned the persistent violence in Gaza and the violations against human rights and sacred sites. He disclosed that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had instructed the dispatch of relief materials to the beleaguered residents of Gaza.

Dr. Al-Habbash conveyed his gratitude towards Pakistan for its vocal stance against the ongoing atrocities in Gaza. He expressed hope that the month of September would witness more nations acknowledging Palestine as a sovereign state. ‘The time is near when leaders from the Muslim world will unite at Al-Aqsa Mosque to offer prayers of thanks,’ he remarked. The discussions concluded with both parties agreeing to enhance scholarly exchanges and dialogue to advance interfaith comprehension.
