Islamabad: The Federal Cabinet at its meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad today approved the draft of Defence Forces Act 2026.
According to Radio Pakistan, the draft has been prepared in continuation of the amendments made through the 27th Constitutional Amendment and aims to determine the relevant administrative matters regarding the office of the Chief of Defence Forces and the Chief of Defence Forces Headquarters. It will be presented before Parliament for consideration and approval during the ongoing session.
The Cabinet also approved amendments to the National Command Authority Act 2010, which was a necessary process following the 27th Constitutional Amendment. The amended draft of National Command Authority Act 2010 will also be presented before Parliament for approval.
