Farukh Amil emphasizes importance of IPR for innovators, entrepreneurs

Chairperson of Intellectual Property Organization (IPO) Pakistan Farukh Amil has emphasized the importance of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) for innovators and entrepreneurs, particularly in the context of country’s growing economy.

Delivering an interactive presentation on Intellectual Property at the Aga Khan University in Karachi, he highlighted the need to safeguard the country’s genetic resources and traditional knowledge, which are vital for the development of innovative, IP-protected AgriTech solutions.

The Chairperson IPO Pakistan encouraged the students to think creatively about securing their IP rights for their innovations, and contributing to Pakistan’s economic growth.

The event was aimed at raising awareness about the significance of IP rights among students, faculty members, and researchers. The Dean Faculty of Science and Arts Prof. Stephen Lyon, outlined the importance of IP and its relevance to the coming generation, especially innovators.
