The death anniversary of renowned religious scholar and active member of the Pakistan Movement, Syed Ahmad Saeed Shah Kazmi, is being observed today. He was born on March 13, 1913, in Amroha, India.
Syed Ahmad Saeed Shah Kazmi belonged to an esteemed scholarly family known for its knowledge and wisdom in India. His education and upbringing were under the guidance of his elder brother, Allama Maulana Syed Muhammad Khalil Muhaddith Amrohvi, who educated him at the Madrasa Bahr-ul-Uloom in Shahjahanpur.
In 1935, he moved to Multan, where he began teaching from his home. Later, he delivered sermons and taught Hadith at the Hafiz Fateh Sher Mosque. Due to his scholarly contributions, he became well-known among both the general public and the elite.
Syed Ahmad Saeed Shah Kazmi played a significant role in the establishment of Jamaat Ahl-e-Sunnat, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan, and Dawat-e-Islami. He also served as a Sheikh-ul-Hadith at Islamia University Bahawalpur.
He passed away on June 4, 1986, during the holy month of Ramadan 25, and a large number of people attended his funeral prayer. He was laid to rest at the Shahi Eidgah Mosque in Multan, where his shrine is a place of pilgrimage for many.
