Leaders of the European Union on Friday reached an agreement on a roadmap for taking measures to protect European consumers from soaring energy prices due to war in Ukraine.

 

This was revealed by European Commission chief Ursula von der Leyen at a media conference in Brussels.

 

The published text calls on the European Commission and EU countries in coming weeks to find ways to shield consumers from the high prices while preserving Europe’s global competitiveness.
