Ethiopian Ambassador’s Farewell Meeting with Sindh Chief Minister

The successful launch of Ethiopian Airlines’ flights connecting Karachi directly to Addis Ababa was termed a historic achievement during the farewell meeting of the outgoing Ethiopian Ambassador, Dr. Jamal Baqir Abdullah, a significant step in strengthening economic and diplomatic ties between the two nations.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah hosted the meeting in honor of the outgoing ambassador, which was also attended by the Honorary Consul General of Ethiopia, Khalid Tawab. The Chief Minister praised the ambassador for his dedicated services during his diplomatic tenure.

Highlighting a major achievement, Murad Ali Shah said, “During Dr. Jamal’s diplomatic tenure, Ethiopian Airlines launched its flights from Karachi to Addis Ababa.” This air link is considered a significant development for fostering closer relations.

Looking ahead, the Chief Minister expressed optimism about bilateral relations. He stated, “Pakistan and Ethiopia will further promote trade relations,” and added that he hopes Dr. Jamal Baqir Abdullah will “carry forward this new partnership” in his future responsibilities as well.

In his response, the Ethiopian ambassador expressed heartfelt gratitude to the provincial government for its continuous support. Dr. Jamal Baqir Abdullah said, “The Sindh government provided exceptional cooperation at every step, which is important for us,” acknowledging the role of local authorities in his successful tenure.
