Enforced disappearance termed blatant violation of human rights

Nasrullah Baloch, Chairman, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, on Friday said that enforced disappearance was unconstitutional and blatant violation of human rights.

Addressing a press conference in the protest camp of Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, he said that August 30 was celebrated as international day for enforced disappearance, adding, ‘Purpose of today’s press conference is to create awareness about this unconstitutional act’.

He said that enforced disappearance of Baloch political worker, Baloch intellectual and Baloch students started during the reign of former dictator General Pervaiz Musharaf which was still in progress. He said that Ali Asghar had been missing since 2001, adding that nothing was known about Dr. Din Muhammad, Zakir Majeed and thousands of Baloch missing persons.

He said that the previous day mutilated bodies of four young men were found in Khuzdar area of Balochistan, adding that target killing of Baloch refugees was in progress in Iran and Afghanistan.

He called on the authorities to ensure the safe recovery of all Baloch missing persons, stop the killing of Baloch youth in fake encounters and produce the missing persons before the court of law. On the occasion, Vice Chairman, Voice for Baloch Missing Persons, Mama Qadeer Baloch and others were also present.
