Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif today underscored that the recent reduction in electricity prices will bring significant relief to the people and help stimulate economic activity in the country.

Chairing a meeting in Islamabad to review progress on maritime sector reforms, the prime minister noted that the government is working to transfer the benefits of declining global oil prices directly to the public.

He pointed out that Pakistan has achieved macroeconomic stability and the lowering of power tariffs is expected to improve the country’s economic growth and competitiveness.

Focusing on the maritime sector, the premier highlighted efforts to accelerate development in the blue economy and break longstanding delays in its progress.

He acknowledged the Maritime Task Force for its contribution in preparing recommendations for the sector’s improvement and stressed that global progress is linked to access to maritime resources.

The prime minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing reforms across the maritime sector to support national development.
