Minister for Communications Asad Mahmood says efforts are afoot to modernize motorways and National Highways in order to facilitate the passengers.

Talking to APP, he said a digital system is being introduced for payment of toll-plaza fees without stopping at motorways.

Asad Mahmood said trauma centres would also be set up at the Motorways.

He also instructed National Highway Authority officials to work on issuance of no objection certificates (NOC) required for initiating economic activities along the roads.

Earlier, General Manager NHA Chaudhry Iftikhar Ahmed Sajid informed the minister about pace of work on different schemes under the NHA in the local region.
