ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), on demand of the political parties and to facilitate the candidates, has extended the date for filing of nomination papers for the next general elections for two more days.
According to the amended schedule issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan on Friday, scrutiny of the nomination papers, beginning on Monday will continue till December 30.
Appeals against acceptance or rejection of nomination papers can be filed by January 3, which will be decided by January 10. The ECP will publish the revised list of candidates on January 11, while candidates can withdraw their papers by January 12.
Electoral symbols will be allotted on January 13, and general elections will take place on February 8, 2024. Earlier, the ECP had announced that the nomination papers would be received from December 20 to 22.
