Economy ruined due to present government: Suri

QUETTA: Qasim Khan Suri, former Deputy Speaker National Assembly and President, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Balochistan, has said that due to incompetency of incumbent federal government, economy of the country has been ruined, increasing thereby inflation.

Talking to media after submitting nomination papers against the NA-265 seat Quetta-II here on Wednesday, Suri said that like the general election of 2018, victory would be achieved in the by-election to be held on March 16 with the overwhelming support of the people. He said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) would be defeated in the by-election, because, he added that it was an international conspiracy to oust the elected government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

He added that regime change abettors got cases amounting to Rs. 1100 billion withdrawn soon after assuming power, adding that undemocratic measures were adopted to accept the resignations tendered by MNAs of PTI which were later accepted for fear of changing the opposition leader.

He said that additional taxes would be levied after accepting the demands of IMF. He said that gas project with the estimated cost of more than one billion was approved for Quetta city besides approving the dual carriage way from Quetta to Zhob, constructing cardio hospital in Quetta, installing new feeders of electricity, establishment of NADRA’s mega centre and new water supply schemes in Quetta with the cooperation of China. On the occasion, Senior leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, including Dr. Muneer Baloch, Minister for Mines and Minerals, Mubeen Khan Khilji, Haji Saifullah Kakar, Syed Sadiq Agha, Sardar Zain-ul-Abidien Khilji, Dawood Khan Panezai, Akram Tarin, Nur Khan Khilji, Zulekha Aziz Mandokhail, Jaffar Kakar, Akhtar Mandokhail, Alam Kakar and others were also present.
