ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has said the economy is showing positive indicators as a result of the prudent policies introduced by the government.

Talking to media, along with Prime Minister’s Coordinator Romina Khurshid, here in Islamabad on Thursday, he said rupee is gaining strength and exchange rate is now more stable.

The Minister said the nation today witnessed an upward trajectory in the stock exchange with an increase of record points. He said Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) is being digitalized as per vision of the Prime Minister to improve revenue collection.

He said the government is also committed to youth empowerment and it will soon launch a comprehensive programme in this regard.

Attaullah Tarar said international leading financial rating agency Bloomberg has predicted 15 percent reduction in inflation rate next year.

He commended the role of media for positively reporting the privatization of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) as there is no other option to avoid the loss of eighty billion rupees being incurred by the PIA on national exchequer.
