Peshawar: Former speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser said that the top court has provided an opportunity to all the political parties to move towards a solution to the current crisis but the PDM government is using delaying tactics.
Mr Qaiser lambasted Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) saying that they wanted a verdict from the supreme court on gunpoint but PTI was serious in their approach to talks within the jurisdiction of the constitution. He further said that the PML-N had not given a ticket to their candidates yet.
Qaiser maintained that an early election is the only solution to this current inflation and political crisis.
The PTI leader said the party members who did not get the tickets, would get a chance in the local government elections. He further said the PTI would move court against the caretaker government after the completion of their tenure.
Earlier, the Supreme Court (SC) adjourned the hearing of a petition seeking simultaneous elections across Pakistan after being told that a meeting had been scheduled between the government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for April 26.
The apex court had directed the coalition government and PTI to hold talks and develop a consensus on elections in the country.
