Dow University observes Thanksgiving Day

Thanksgiving Day was observed at both campuses of Dow University of Health Sciences on the directive of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, to express solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces and to remember the martyrs.

The rally at Dow Medical College Campus was led by Acting Vice Chancellor Professor Jahan Ara Hassan.

The rally was attended by Registrar Dr. Ashar Afaq, Principal of Dow Medical College Saba Sohail, Vice Principal Shumaila Khalid, Principal of Dow International Medical College Professor Iftikhar Ahmed, Professor Sajida Qureshi, Professor Zeba Ahmed, Professor Nawaz Lashari, and a large number of faculty and students.

Professor Jahan Ara Hassan stated that the Pakistan Armed Forces have made the nation proud, and we are proud of our forces. Dr. Ashar Afaq mentioned that this is a historic moment that has united the nation. He stated that the Pakistan Armed Forces gave a fitting response to Indian aggression.

Professor Saba Sohail said that our brave forces have fulfilled the duty of protecting the country. Students organized a blood donation campaign. Professor Nawaz Lashari said that it was our unity that led to the defeat of the enemy.

Participants in the rally raised national flags and banners, chanting slogans that reflected patriotism. Slogans such as “Long Live Pakistan Army,” “Long Live Pakistan,” and “Salute to the Martyrs” were chanted during the event.

Students expressed their respect for the protectors who thwarted enemy intentions. Prayers were offered at the end of the event for the safety of the Pakistan Armed Forces, the martyrs, and the beloved homeland.
