Pakistan’s newly formed Parliamentary Friendship Group for Palestine has reinforced the nation’s diplomatic and legal strategy, vowing to amplify its voice against the actions of both the Israeli and Indian governments while focusing on its stance at the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

The inaugural briefing session of the Pakistan-Palestine Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG) convened in the capital on Tuesday, marking a formal start to its activities under the leadership of Member of the National Assembly (MNA) Ammar Ahmad Khan Leghari.

The gathering featured a comprehensive presentation from officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Participants included MNAs Ahmad Atteeq Anwer, Khurram Munawar Manj, Romina Khurshid Alam, and Saba Sadiq. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Jordan also contributed to the briefing via a virtual connection.

Deliberations centered on the existing state of Pakistan-Palestine bilateral relations and the potential for enhanced cooperation between the two parliaments. The agenda also covered Pakistan’s legal position on Palestine-related matters before the ICJ and the development of effective media and public diplomacy strategies.

The lawmakers expressed profound solidarity with the people of Palestine and Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). The members collectively prayed for the victims of ongoing violence and reaffirmed their commitment to challenging the policies of the Israeli and Indian administrations on the global stage.

In a significant development, a representative from the Foreign Office also provided Senator Mushtaq with encouraging updates regarding recent diplomatic progress concerning Israel.
