Delegation of Jani Khel tribe meet with CM KP

PESHAWAR: A 40-member jirga comprising elders of Jani Khel tribe of Bannu district met Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Thursday and briefed him in detail about all the issues facing the people of the area. Besides Provincial Minister Shah Mohammad Wazir, Chief Secretary Dr Kazim Niaz, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, Commandant Frontier Constabulary Salahuddin, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, Commissioner, Regional Police Officer, Deputy Commissioner and District Police Officer Bannu were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the Jirga, the Chief Minister assured to solve all the problems of the people of Jani Khel on priority basis, maintain law and order in the area and develop the area on a rapid basis with a special development package of Rs 2 billion for the area. He also announced to provide Rs 2 billion for the construction of Shakto Dam. Announcing the recruitment of five platoons comprising of local youth in the Frontier Constabulary to provide employment to the youth of the area, the Chief Minister said that all the expenses of the youth recruited would be borne by the provincial government.

He directed the concerned authorities to prepare a case in this regard at the earliest and submit it for approval. On the occasion, the Chief Minister also announced the construction of a police station at Jani Khel. The Chief Minister also assured to start hospitals, educational institutions, roads and other development projects in the area on priority basis. Stating that law and order was essential for the development of the region on a sustainable basis, he said that the provincial government was taking serious steps to establish ideal peace in the area and eradicate other evil elements including target killers. He urged the elders of the area to play their due role in this regard.

The Chief Minister lamented that some elements tried to incite the people of Jani Khel against the government for their political purposes but the conscious people of Jani Khel thwarted their efforts. Mahmood Khan said that as the Chief Minister he wanted and strived for peace and development in all corners of the province for which fruitful steps were being taken.

Chief Minister further said that the agreement reached with the people of Jani Khel. The provincial government is based on him and the promises made to him will be fulfilled. He is fully aware of the sufferings and problems of the people of Jani Khel and all their legitimate issues will be resolved according to their wishes.

He thanked the elders of Jani Khel for holding the successful Jirga and appreciated the efforts of the administration in this regard. The elders of Jani Khel thanked the Chief Minister for convening the Jirga and giving him time to listen to their concerns and assured full cooperation with the government for maintaining peace and development in the area.
