Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering dedication to ensuring regional peace and stability, while simultaneously safeguarding its sovereignty and national interests.

During a phone conversation with Greece’s Foreign Minister, George Gerapetritis, Dar vociferously condemned India’s unilateral decision to suspend the Indus Waters Treaty. Terming it a flagrant breach of international commitments, he urged for an independent and transparent investigation to establish the facts surrounding the issue.

Dar also briefed Gerapetritis on the prevailing regional dynamics, firmly dismissing India’s unfounded accusations, misinformation campaigns, and unlawful unilateral actions that jeopardize regional tranquility and security.

Gerapetritis underscored the necessity of exercising restraint to avoid escalation and maintain peace and stability. He applauded Pakistan’s suggestion for an impartial and transparent inquiry.

Both officials concurred on the importance of maintaining close coordination on regional and global matters, especially through their roles as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council.
