Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Pervaiz Malik, met with Jakob Linulf, the Danish Ambassador to Pakistan, at the Petroleum Division, highlighting a new chapter in Pakistan-Denmark collaboration.
The meeting underscored Denmark’s significant role in advancing Pakistan’s mining sector through technological collaboration, with a key highlight being the upcoming launch of the BRIMM training program by FLSmidth.
FLSmidth, a leader in sustainable mining technology, plans to train one hundred Pakistani engineers as part of this initiative during the Pakistan Minerals Investment Forum from April 8-9, 2025. This program aims to enhance the local workforce’s skills in modern mining solutions, aligning with Pakistan’s objectives to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact in its mineral extraction industries.
Minister Malik conveyed Pakistan’s eagerness to capitalize on Danish technological expertise to optimize resource extraction and processing. He assured full governmental support to facilitate Danish investments and encouraged partnerships between Danish and Pakistani firms.
Ambassador Linulf expressed Denmark’s commitment to supporting Pakistan’s energy transition and industrial growth, emphasizing Danish companies’ readiness to contribute to Pakistan’s economic and environmental goals.
The meeting also highlighted Danish company MAERSK’s $2 billion investment in a deep-sea port, focusing on ship recycling and green ammonia refueling. The discussions concluded with an agreement to promote further collaboration, with FLSmidth playing a crucial role in driving modern mining practices in Pakistan.
