Pakistan MeteorologicaL Department said on Saturday that the cyclonic storm ‘ASNA’ over northeast Arabian Sea off Sindh coast has moved further westward during past 9 hours and now lies at around Latitude 23.6 N and Longitude 65.7 E at a distance of about 200km southwest of Karachi, 220km south-southeast of Ormara and 380km southeast of Gwadar. Under its influence, rain-thundershowers with few heavy falls and accompanied with squally winds are likely in Karachi division, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Hyderabad, Tando Muhammad Khan, Tando Allahyar, Matiari, Jamshoro and Dadu districts of Sindh today evening and night and in Hub, Lasbella, Awaran, Kech and Gwadar districts of Balochistan till tomorrow night.

Heavy rains may create water logging in low lying areas of Makran coast. Fishermen are advised not to venture into sea during the period. From 31st Aug to 01st Sep, torrential rains may generate pluvial flood and inundation in low lying areas of south Sindh, south Balochistan. Torrential rains may generate flash flooding in local nullahs and streams of Karachi, Hyderabad, Dadu, Kalat, Khuzdar, Jaffarabad, Sibbi, Naseerabad, Barkhan, Loralai, Awaran, Panjgur, Washuk, Mastung and Lasbella.

Saturday weather: hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Rain-wind/thundershower is expected at scattered places in south Balochistan and south Sindh, while at isolated places in South Punjab, north Balochistan and Gilgit Baltistan. Rain-thundershowers with heavy falls and accompanied with squally winds are likely in south Sindh and Makran during the period.

Sunday weather: hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. Rain-wind and thundershower is expected at scattered places in lower Balochistan and southwest Sindh, while at isolated places in north Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas. Rain-thundershowers with heavy falls and accompanied with squally winds are likely in Makran during the period.
