ISLAMABAD: The Special Central Court of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Lahore on Thursday directed PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz to appear in person in a money laundering case against him, his father Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and others on Saturday (October 8, 2022).
On the other hand, the court also released a two-page order of the last hearing of the money laundering case against members of the Sharif family. It was stated in the order that Hamza could not appear in the court on the last date of the hearing on account of backache.
“In the application filed for Hamza’s exemption from court appearance, his lawyer stated that doctors had advised his client four to six weeks of rest,” read the order. However, the order said, the PML-N leader was granted one-day exemption from appearance in court, and that he was directed to appear in person on the next date of the hearing. Amjad Pervaiz Advocate, counsel for PM Shehbaz, on the occasion, gave arguments in the favour of his client’s acquittal in the case.
