LAHORE: An anti-corruption court in Lahore on Thursday summoned former Punjab chief minister Parvez Elahi and other accused persons to face indictment in a case during the next hearing pertaining to the illegal recruitments in Punjab Assembly
Mr Elahi could not appear in the today’s hearing of the case conducted by judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta. However, the former chief minister’s medical certificate was submitted in the court.
The medical certificate mentioned that Elahi was unable to attend the case proceedings due to a his bone fracture. The medical report stated that he had been advised three weeks of bed rest and could not travel during this period.
The court adjourned the hearing and summoned Elahi and the 10 other accused persons for indictment on May 13.
