The Congress has slammed the BJP-led Indian government for its failure to defuse the volatile situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to a Kashmir Media Service report on Wednesday, the Congress chapter president in IIOJK, Vikar Rasool Wani, during a press conference in Srinagar, also called upon the occupation authorities to de-escalate the situation.
According to Wani, in the last 45 days, there have been 15 violent incidents in the Jammu region alone, resulting in the deaths of 10 Indian forces personnel, including two officers.
“We are deeply concerned about the escalating violence in the region. The security situation in Jammu is deteriorating,” Wani said, blaming the Modi regime for the failure.
“For the past decade, the BJP has caused significant hardships and challenges to every segment of society, leading to widespread suffering,” he added. He reiterated the party’s demand for the restoration of statehood to occupied Jammu and Kashmir before elections.
