All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concerns over the condition of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Indian jails.
In a statement issued from Srinagar, APHC representative Abdul Rasheed said that Hurriyat Chairman Masarat Alam Butt, Shabir Ahmad Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Naeem Ahmed Khan, along with several Kashmiri youth, scholars, rights activists and journalists, are imprisoned because of their political beliefs.
He said that the prisoners are being subjected to cruel treatment and their detention is being extended by avoiding court appearances.
He demanded immediate and unconditional release of all Kashmiri prisoners and stressed that there is no legal basis for their continued illegal detention in fabricated cases.
