Commissioner ensures protection of foreign experts working in mega projects in Bannu

BANNU: Commissioner Bannu Division Arshad Khan on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee to review and improve the law and order situation in Bannu Division.

Addressing the meeting, the Commissioner said that it was the duty of all of us to maintain law and order keeping in view the sensitivity of Bannu Division. For which everyone should play a responsible role in their relative capacity. He said concrete steps have been taken to maintain law and order in the division so that extremism and terrorism can be eradicated.

He said in order to achieve this goal an integrated strategy has been formulated with the divisional and three district administrations including all the law enforcement agencies to ensure a satisfactory law and order situation in the division.

Commanding Officer 116 Brigade Brigadier Umar Zia Cheema, Regional Police Officer Syed Ashfaq Anwar, Deputy Commissioner Bannu Capt (r) Muhammad Zubair Khan Niazi, Deputy Commissioner Lakki Marwat Iqbal Hussain, Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan Shahid Ali, DPO Lakki Marwat Prince Omar Abbas Babar, DPO North Waziristan Farhan Khan and other senior law enforcement officials attended the meeting.

Arshad Khan said the people of the area affected by long term terrorism should now have a peaceful life. He said apart from all government properties, security of sensitive places including jails, schools, colleges and universities would be ensured. He said protection of foreign experts working in mega development projects in Bannu division has also been ensured. Important decision were made in the meeting to further improve the security measures in the division.
